The number of oil drilling rigs in the United States has decreased, according to data from the oilfield services company Baker Hughes.
According to the data released on Friday, the number of oil drilling rigs operating in the country decreased by 1 to 342 in the week ending April 29, compared to the previous week.
Last year, the number of oil drilling rigs in the United States was at its lowest level in more than a decade due to the COVID-19 pandemic and a price war between Russia and Saudi Arabia. However, with the increase in oil prices, the number of drilling rigs has gradually increased since then.
Oil prices have risen by more than 30% this year due to the increase in demand as the global economy recovers from the pandemic, while OPEC+ countries continue to restrict production to support prices.
