French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne announced that they will unveil a
bill next month aimed at regulating and making the digital space safer. Borne,
speaking after a Cabinet meeting at the Elysee Palace, revealed the contents of
the ruling party's "100-day" action plan for the country until July
14th.
Borne emphasized the desire to create a peaceful dialogue with unions and
"a new social calendar," saying that all issues were on the table to
improve working conditions. She stated that they want to remove all obstacles
to employment and said, "We must all act together on the issue of
salaries."
The bill will be discussed in the National Assembly from May 15th onwards.
Borne also stated that they will introduce a green industry bill in mid-May and
a bill to prevent forest fires will be discussed in the National Assembly
starting May 15th.
Borne said that 6,000 assistants will be hired to work in the medical field
by the end of next year and that teacher salaries will be increased by up to
500 euros per month in the education sector.
The Prime Minister also stated that they will introduce a bill to regulate
and make the digital space safer at the beginning of May. She said that this
bill will take new steps to combat online harassment and that they will also
fight against fraud in the digital environment.
Borne said, "We will deploy an additional 150 police and gendarmes in
Alpes-Maritimes (department) from next week due to the increasing migration
pressure at the Italian border." She also noted that they will deploy
additional forces to protect the borders until the summer.
Borne pointed out that the fight against illegal immigration is one of the
government's top priorities. She stated that there is no majority in parliament
to approve the government's immigration bill and that they will unveil it in
the fall.
The French Prime Minister emphasized that they are
seeking a majority for each bill they introduce. French President Emmanuel
Macron used the phrase "We have 100 days to ensure calm, unity,
determination, ambition, and serve France" in his national address on
April 17th.
